Maybelline Volum' Express Falsies BIG Eyes Washable Mascara REVIEW

Hello again lovelies!

A girl can never have to many mascaras and I do believe in this! On a natural day a bare face and a ton of coats of mascara is all I need.  I am totally obsessed so when the new Falsies Big Eyes came out I had to pick one up! So I picked up the washable mascara in very black and the verdict..... I LOVE IT! It's dual ended with two brushes specifically for top and bottom lashes... finally! the formula is a light formula, it doesn't feel heavy or thick it dried quickly and kept my lashes in place all day. No flakes or smudging. I was able to build up more volume and length with three coats without it looking clumpy and spider looking (even though I love clumpy lashes, I know not everyone does) It washed off so easily and It gave me good volume and length this is my definite summer time mascara.

This is the smaller brush and though you can't tell in the photo this is the cutest little guy ever in mascara world! It really gets into the hard to reach areas and coats them nice and evenly.

The upper lash brush is the perfect size brush to get close to the lash line give the brush a wiggle and a blink without getting mascara all over the eye lid

Hope this helped! Until next time!

Become a Julep Maven! SUBSCRIPTION + REVIEW

Hello beautiful ladies!
Sorry I've been gone for a little while now but I come with a nice little treat of COLOR!

Julep! Becoming a Maven! I know a ton of you all have probably heard of it by now and if there are a few of you like myself your wondering what in the world is Julep. To be completely honest two weeks ago was the first time I had ever heard about Julep when a friend of mine recommended I should try it. So I looked into it and it seemed like something I would be interested in.

So like most subscriptions first you start with a style quiz then the stylist will pick two nail colors and other beauty products for your box all based off your style quiz and WAAHLAA! You're a Maven! Another plus, if you don't like what the stylist have selected for you or want to try another style, you can swap out your box and choose from other boxes. All of this for $19.99, 20% off all products and free shipping. You also get to skip a month and cancel at any time.

Now moving onto the products...
I chose the Classic With A Twist Intro Box

http://www.julep.com/maven-exclusive/classic-with-a-twist-intro-box.html

Mainly because I have been looking for a creamy taupe color which is obviously what is in this box I selected. The colors are nice and creamy, dry quickly, and are very pigmented. All in all I was very happy with these products and will def try more colors in the upcoming months.

So I received my items pretty quickly, in a little black box and the nail polishes were wrapped nicely in hot pick tissue paper. Definitely a great presentation!

I received a glycolic hand scrub which smells AMAZING! and left my hands so, so soft! It can also be used on the body I haven't tried it yet but I do plan to. I also got a nail filer and a taupe nail color (Debra) as well as a honeysuckle pink (Natalie)

DEBRA: I really, really LOVE this color! The only thing I will say is this formula seems to be a little on the thick side so just be careful on how thick you apply your coats because you will get those tiny super annoying bubbles. That isn't a major issue, well to me anyway. Its very nice a shiny and again it dried super fast!

NATALIE: Is such a beautiful color it wasn't as thick as the taupe color and it was a bit more shinier. I absolutely love this color! It's perfect for the summer time.

So overall I am very happy with the colors and the products themselves! I will definitely continue my subscription, and to get your first box free use coupon code: (FREEBOX) I'm not sure how long this code will last so I do recommend trying it out asap so that you don't miss out on such a good deal!

I hope this helped you beauties out in anyway
Talk to you all soon!

Be Spring Ready At Any Time!

Hello again Beauties!
Spring certainly has arrived even though it's still pretty chilly and rainy here in Chicago! We all need to be on top of our game, and ready at any time! In my previous post I talked about perfecting our facial skin to get it to its healthiest, nourished looking, but we can't forget about the rest of our beauty regimen.

Get Organized : Stay on top of....well pretty much everything! SPRING CLEANING! Find a good organizational set up for everything including jewelry, makeup, clothes, accessories, etc. That way when you're just sitting around with nothing to do on a  beautiful day and last minute plans arise its easier to run out the door. Plus it just makes everything look so much more pretty!

Fake A Tan : After a long winter season your skin has missed the sunlight and the best way to get some color back into it is with a self - tanner. Their are tons out there. Find the one that works best for you and apply it after you have showered and exfoliated. If you want more color in your face as well look for a separate one formulated for facial skin, don't forget to exfoliate your face too!

Perfect Your Pout : Don't forget to exfoliate your lips! ...yes your lips too! I won't sit here and say that I put together a special lip concoction and work it into my regimen weekly, but when I do use my facial scrub twice a week I work that into my lips as well. Also apply lip balm religiously! My favorite spring look  is a neutral eye and a bright pout and you don't want to be rocking a flaky lip, now that is NOT sexy!

Clean Your Brushes : Always make sure your brushes are clean, especially if you're acne - prone. During the warmer seasons when our skin is exposed to more sun and eh... we're all a lot more sweaty you don't want to add dirty brushes to up the chances of breakouts.

Define Your Brows : As I stated above, my favorite spring look is a natural face and a pretty bright lip. When I'm wearing very minimal makeup I like to make sure my brows are perfectly groomed, it just makes the look come together better. Pick up some brow powder and gel or wax to help define your color and keep your brows in place. I have been loving nyx eyebrow cake powder. It comes conveniently in a little compact with everything you need and its easy for on the go as well. The best part about it is its only $5.99. I usually get mine at Ulta here's the link to the one I use every day.

Fruits and Veggies : What it comes down to is healthy lifestyle choices. For nourished skin we need to consume produce regularly which naturally contain, antioxidants and vitamins that we need to keep skin fresh, try a smoothie for breakfast or juice your veggies for on the go!

Glowing Complexion : To create a subtle glow, try out face shimmers. Also use a tinted moisturizer or a bb cream in place of your usual thicker foundation. Try out a cream blush and apply liquid luminizer to your cheekbones, cupids bow and arch of your brows.

Drink More Water : Did I really just mention this back to back?? YES! Ladies I can not stress this enough it is essential for beautiful skin, bottom line. So drink as much as you can.

Be ready to strut your stuff as soon as the warm weather emerges!
Talk to you all soon!

Give Your Skin Some LOVE!

Hi Lovelies!
So I wanted to talk to you all about SKIN!
Now that spring has arrived I'm sure we all want to emerge from the heavy winter foundations! With that being said I want to give you all a few tips on how to achieve fresh spring skin! Follow these tips and in no time you will start to notice a healthy glow in your skin!

EXFOLIATE:
For glowy skin we all should exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week. I know with a hectic work week who has time to remember to exfoliate weekly huh..?? THIS GIRL! and so should you! exfolitaing is crucial for the removal of dead skin cells, dry skin and deep cleansing of the pores! Trust me it is soooo worth it in the long run! I have combination to oily skin plus I'm acne-prone and since I started exfoliating, every Thursday and Sunday, my skin has definitely become softer and has more of a glow, plus no flakes of dead skin which means a better base for applying foundation!

The current facial scrub that I use is the one listed below which works wonders! and smells DELISH!

 HYDRATE:
I know you guys have heard this over and over again, but its true! WATER! Our bodies need it! Trust me, I haven't always been a fan of it. I've tried flavored water, lime and lemon and I just have never liked the taste of it. weird? maybe, but its true. Until my skin started to become excessively dry, dull and even a little limp. I came across an article saying how water is essential for good health, which we all know already! And also how a good moisturizer will just not cut it for brighter and tighter skin. Since I started to increase my water intake my skin has done a 360! Its brighter! I myself drink about 10-13 cups of water daily. For women though the typical amount is roughly 9 cups per day.

MOISTURIZE:
Hydrating and moisturizing play hand in hand in achieving a radiant complexion! I know how hard it is to find a good moisturizer. the bottom line is everyone has different skin types with different needs! For me since I am combination skin and acne-prone, therefore I have always been advised to use serums, light weight moisturizers that are OIL FREE which always no matter what leave my skin dry and flaky which is never good. So I did the unthinkable for having the skin type that I have and I tried a moisturizer that is not listed oil free and my skin hasn't been the same ever since. So when you find that moisturizer that fits to your skin like a glove, never let it go! We all need a good moisturizer to seal in the hydration. Your skin will look and feel smooth and nourished!
This is my HOLY GRAIL! The best part about it is you can find it at any drugstore! Its about $11.99

SUN PROTECTION:
Last but Definitely not least! The most important of them all, SPF! If you don't protect your skin from the sun the problems that you are trying to fix will return. I am currently using a SPF 50 every single day under my makeup. You should also protect the more delicate skin, like around your eyes if your out in the sun for long periods of time by wearing a hat or sun glasses.
The SPF that I am currently using is this one here and it so far doesn't leave my face greasy. My sister did give me this so I'm not exactly sure on the price I looked around and seen it for about $14.99

To add to these 4 easy tips my current facial routine has played an important role in the difference in my skin. When I changed my entire skin care routine (about 7 weeks ago) I seen almost immediate results. Nothing has ever worked for me so drastically and in such a short period of time until these products
